Rainy Sunday, so I finally drafted the course plans that were kicking around in my head for use at the Region 6 Invitational. I’d pretty much settles on what I wanted to do with the start/finish and the southeast end of the field. Those went into the design first, and I wanted the first plan to have no crossovers.
My first attempt came in well over 1,000 yards, so I pulled the north end in front of the low spot out there. The second plan I wanted was a single crossover using the same alleys.
That one also came out long, and I shaved it down to 1,000 yards on the nose. Looking at it gave me another idea for a similar, shorter design without the crossover.
Comments welcome—especially if you are the field trial chairman that weekend.
Personally I like the crossover course as it provides a decent amount of turns, but has several nice long straight aways spaced out enough to show off speed.

Those courses look pretty good.
